On Friday I had developed a pointed soreness in my right hamstring just about where it dives under the glute...it was unusual in that it felt like it was at the surface but I assumed that I must have simply pulled something doing legs on Thursday.

It was still there this morning and I ran my hand over the area only to find an embedded tick!

I now, no doubt, have chronic Lyme disease...it has been good knowing all of you. Sanction can have my butterfly collection.

No AIDS or anything from the tick?

I think I am good. Took 200mg of doxy as a precaution on the advice of my doctor friend.

Chest

Flat Bench, TRX flyes, Pec-Deck, Plate Press

I did four sets of 10 of everything today. Also practiced box jumps without the vest and was able to get 36" without any real trouble.

Legs

Goblet Squat, Step Ups, Weighted Walking Lunges, Box Jumps, Overhead Squats

So for box jumps, I managed to hit 36" for three today with the 25# vest on which I was pretty stoked about. Maybe could have done more but the gym was unusually crowded so didn't really want to have a messy fail...

Wow, nice hops.

Have you tried doing any contrast training? Like 1 rep on trap bar DL followed by jumps?

Never tried that sort of training.

It's quite effective. I forgot the scientific terms for it but it's a very sound approach.

With sprinting drills, you actually get faster each sprint because of neuronal priming until fatigue surpasses the gained MU recruitment. Similar concept but different.
